Lewandowski
North Coast, California
Evan Lewandowski makes thought-provoking wines which are inspired by the redemptive cycle of life, death, and life again, using farming and winemaking as a means to explore this theme. His fruit is sourced from several organic vineyards in the North Coast AVA, and Fox Hill (recently purchased by Broc Cellars) is one of his biggest suppliers. There is a big emphasis on Italian and Portuguese grape varieties, which are well-suited to the warm and dry Californian summers.
Feints
Feints was originally inspired by the lighter red wines of northern Italy, and this vintage is about as Feints-y as they come, with a co-ferment of Arneis, Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo forming the core of the wine. The grapes were all farmed at Fox Hill Vineyard, where they grew in sandy soils on north-facing slopes. This wine has a bright and fruity personality, with some gentle spice and an herbaceous endnote that we really love.

Rosé
The Rosé is focused on Portuguese grapes, and uses deeper red grapes which result in a full-bodied expression, full of potent aromas, layers of flavour and ample texture. The majority of the blend is Touriga Nacional, Sezão, and direct-pressed Tinta Roriz, with a bit of Sauvignon Blanc peppered into the blend giving a gentle lift.

Tatto
A multi-vineyard blend of several white varieties (this vintage features 8: Fruilano, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Gruner Veltliner, Malvasia, Kerner, Trebbiano, and Moscato Bianco), which were all fermented separately and fully on-skins for 7-10 days. Succulent, textured, aromatic, spicy, this is a fascinating and elegant expression of orange wine.

Mahlon
Made with Arneis, a tricky little grape that is known to be quite tempermental both in the vineyard and winery. Thus, Mahlon is only made in certain vintages, and rewards the drinker accordingly. Fresh and lemony, saline breezy and savory. Snappy yet textural, with textbook little white flowers, bitter almond and miso.

Chilion
100% Cortese from Fox Hill Vineyard, fermented on skins and left to macerate on skins for an extended and leisurely 6 months. Chilion means complete, finished, perfect, and this is the most contemplative orange wine that Evan makes. You’ll find amplified spice, herbs and phenolics, like apricot, basil, and baking spice, fresh eucalyptus, and wet pine forest.
